Let's Talk About Feelings
Identify the Feelings
Materials Needed:
- Markers
- Poster Words and/or Pictures from the Story
- Emotion Stickers
Use emotion stickers to identify the feeling(s) on the poster.
After the story is finished, talk about the many feelings that Violet may have been juggling throughout the story.
On a separate poster list specific actions or phrases from the story and have the child identify what feeling she may have had during that time.

Materials Needed:
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper
- Popsicle Sticks
- Yarn
- Buttons
- Pipe Cleaner
Instructions:
- Use the materials provided to create something unique.
- Talk about the creation with the family.
- After speaking with your child about being creative, ask what he/she would like to create!
My Special Project the ________ (whatever they like) and you create something as well. After completing, display it where others can see it and allow the child to talk about their creation with the family present.
Let's Bake Together
Airplane Cookies
Ingredients Needed:
- Sugar Cookie Dough
- Chocolate Chips
- Food Coloring
- Sprinkles
- Pam Cooking Spray
- Cookie Sheet Pan
- Oven
- Spatula
- Plane-shaped Dough Cutter
- Icing
Instructions:
- Cut cookie dough into airplane shapes using a plane-shaped dough cutter.
- Bake and let cool.
- Use sprinkles, chocolate chips, and food color in the icing to add creativeness.
